તબક્કે-તબક્કે તફાવત નડે છે
મને, માત્ર મારી શરાફત નડે છે !
નથી જઈ શકાતું ઉપરવટ, સ્વયંથી
અને આખરે, એ જ બાબત નડે છે !
બધાં ફળ મુકદ્દરને આધિન નથી કઈં
ઘણીવાર, ખુદની ય દાનત નડે છે !
ઉલેચાય ઈતિહાસ, તો ખ્યાલ આવે
કે સરવાળે, એકાદ અંગત નડે છે !
નડે છે મને સ્વપ્ન મારાં અધુરાં
અને સ્વપ્નને, આ હકીકત નડે છે !
કરી ’લ્યો હજુ સત્ય સ્વીકૃત, સહજ થઈ
અને કાં કહી દ્યો કે, નિયત નડે છે !
ખબર છે કે, સોનું તપે એમ નિખરે
છતાં પણ, કશુંક વારસાગત નડે છે !
